The Story

Renee Dalton

Karen Lezzer has spent the better part of her career doing one thing exceptionally well: making women feel extraordinary in what they wear. Her work is grounded in the belief that clothing is not merely decoration — it is architecture for the body, and when done right, it transforms how a person moves through the world.

A lifelong student of craft, Karen trained in fashion design and pattern making before spending years working with some of the Southeast's finest tailors and ateliers. She founded Renee Dalton Fashion Design to bring European couture techniques to the Triangle — and to serve clients who demand more than what the retail world has to offer.

The Philosophy

Every garment Karen creates begins with listening. She believes that the best design is one that disappears into the wearer — so perfectly suited to their body and personality that the craftsmanship goes unspoken, while the effect speaks loudly.

She works with a small, curated client list by design. This is not a production line. Each commission receives Karen's full creative attention, her hands, and her name.

The Atelier

Karen works from her private studio in Raleigh, North Carolina, serving clients throughout the greater Triangle — including Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, and beyond. Consultations are by appointment only, ensuring each client receives a focused, unhurried, entirely personal experience.
